It is family safe but small children will be bored. The two leads in this film have that for each other. The heart of this story is about "Unconditional Love". Though cousin Jennie (Piper Laurie) is strict and joy is hard to come by in the small town, Buddy finds an unlikely friend in his mentally challenged elder cousin, Sook (Patty Duke).
